Our Kilysth Studios are looking for an individual who has good computer skills and understands computer networks. Your role has the key responsibility of downloading and scheduling radio programs into our broadcast automation computers. If this is you and you are team oriented; if you love missions and are keen to get the Word out to people who have never heard the Good News of Jesus, then this job is for you.

Position Type:   Temporary
Time Commitment:   2-3 days per week, until October 2012

Prison Liaison Officer/s for Emmaus Correspondence School

Emmaus Correspondence School LogoEmmaus Correspondence School (ECS) is a ministry of Emmaus Bible College. ECS was established 60 years ago and has developed over the years into a significant ministry particularly the Prison Ministry across Australia. Approximately 1500 courses are sent out annually. The general public also uses the Correspondence School material for both individual study as well as group study.

The position is suited to a Husband and Wife Team: however, individuals should not be deterred from applying.

The applicant/s should:

  • have a real vision and heart for prison ministry;
  • have a sound evangelical doctrine;
  • have good health and previous consistent stable service record;
  • be able to travel with in NSW. This role may lead into interstate travel as well;
  • be able to develop a consistent approach with the Chaplains so that they are confident in them so that he / she can gain access to the inmates readily and at short notice;
  • encourage and determine who of the 'Prison Inmate Hand Out Team' are able to hand out at which prisons on what days. The 'Prison Inmate Hand Out Team' is a team of people who make themselves available to hand out the Emmaus Bible Gems Calendars to Inmates;
  • lodge all applications for security 'trace no trace' security clearances with DCS and ensuring that they are not delayed or lost;
  • develop a schedule of most suitable days and times for that hand out by which members of the Prison Inmate Handout Team to take place and keeping abreast of the continuing changes in dates and times as per the requirements of each prison management;
  • be a member of the Prison Inmate Handout Team, and
  • regularly contact with each Coordinating Chaplain to determine the success of the calendar and the ensuing correspondence courses and encouraging to partner him / her in greater commitment and involvement in these courses.

Funding:

It is expected that the Prison Liaison Officer/s will be self-supported. Emmaus will contribute some funding to the position plus reimbursement of expenses.
 

During this time period, the Prison Liaison Officer/s will generate additional funding from public speaking engagements, gifts etc. Commended Workers from an Assembly may be eligible to receive funding from the Home Workers fund to supplement income.

EMMAUS BIBLE GEMS Calendars
 

At present a significant aspect of the Prison Ministry is the selling of Emmaus Bible Gems Calendars to support the ministry. Calendars are sold to the public across Australia through the Assemblies; funds generated from the sales provide ECS Courses to be sent to the Prisons free of charge.

Calendar activities include:

  • determining the right quantity of EMMAUS BIBLE GEMS CALENDARS to be supplied to each prison and to ensure that that quantity is equal to the expected prison population during year end plus 10%;
  • be able to make recommendations for Calendar lead courses, and
  • be able to receive and where necessary, deliver Calendars

This position may lead into the National Director's role of Emmaus Correspondence School at a future point in time.

Secretary / Chairman of Elders

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

We would appreciate if you could pray with us as we seek new staff for the position of Centre Administrator and also advertise this through your church newsletter for anyone who may be interested. Our current administrators will be leaving us on 31st December 2011 after 5 years’ service and they will be deeply missed.

Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee hiring arrangements of our facility by managing bookings
• Setup and pack up for all groups
• Manage post function cleaning either personally or with volunteers/contractors
• Maintain key register and be responsible for Centre security
• Report to quarterly Incorporation Management Committee meetings
• Perform building maintenance checks and liaise with contractors for repairs and maintenance

Other Responsibilities
• Other administration work may be required to assist the elders and ministry leaders of the church
• Ensure good communication between hirers, church and incorporation management committee.

Working Conditions
• Commencement on or before 19th May 2012 for handover with existing staff.
• On-site hours will be determined by hirers using the facility.
• Estimated to be at least 20 hours per week.
(This is subject to negotiation due to many long-term hirers not requiring any setup etc.)
• Some evening/weekend work will be required and flexibility is needed to meet requirements

Remuneration
• This will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
• May include rent free 3 bedroom house on church property with some expenses included.
